Martina & Leslie are an absolutely gorgeous couple I met a few months back at The Photography Farm. They’re planning their wedding for later this year, but we wanted to do a little something in the meantime. I’m not sure how the idea of Paris came about (I think I watch too many old films), but I’m so glad it did!
You don’t need me to tell you how incredible Paris is. Not only is it known for being one of the most romantic cities in the world, but I also found out that it’s known as the City of Light. Both for good reason. It’s just beautiful. Winter sun is my favourite kind of light anyway, but pair that with the wide tree-lined avenues, beautiful iconic buildings and a gorgeous couple as much in love as Martina & Leslie? It’s a photographer’s dream.
It wasn’t an easy shoot. That I’ll freely admit. The weather turned a few days before and it was a bitter -8′c for most of the time we were there. I remember looking at Ana, our fab make up artist, at one point and seeing that her fingers had gone completely blue! It was windy too, and it kept blowing away the Kelly Spence hairpieces that Martina was wearing. We spent a lot of time defrosting in cafes and taking refuge in the Metro to keep warm , popping up here and there to grab a few photos before it became unbearable again. But the team rocked it out, and Martina & Leslie were so completely brilliant and totally committed to getting great photos. I can’t thank them enough for being such superstars.
